1 tooth, 2 teeth, 5 teeth?!

Lukas was a little of a late bloomer when he finally sprouted his first tooth around 7 1/2 months but he quickly picked up the pace and now has 5 popping out of his gummy gums! Here is a picture of the top 2...where does he get those chubby cheeks from?!? ;)

Lukas has been trying lots of different foods, from peas, sweet potatoes, carrots to pears, bananas, apples, avocados, and is proving to be a little picky eater! He enjoys feeding himself the most. Daddy suggested we try meat, so we bought some canned turkey. Being the good mom that I am ;), I tried it and it was GROSS. Looks like Lukas thought the same thing!

On the move!

As Lukas approaches 7 months, he has figured out how to cruise along furniture. He starts at one end of the coffee table and scoots along side until he can reach the toy or big (which mommy purposefully places all the way at the end).

Nobody makes me laugh like...Casey?!

Lukas' favorite toy lately is Casey. He can't get enough of her. He will turn completly around when she walks in the room and just smile. The other night Justin was trying to get Lukas to laugh...and got a few giggles. Then Casey walked by and he just started cracking up! Check out the 4th video at:

Crawling? Already?!?

Lukas has now figured out how to push up on his hands and knees! He is rocking back and forth and usually lounging himself forward toward a toy (or Casey). Sometimes he just seems to scoot backwards, off the mat or carpet. He seems to get excited by this new found talent, by screaming and singing.

New Year, New Entry

It's been awhile since we have updated the blog version of the BabyLata site. We are looking forward to the quiet of January after a busy holiday season. Lukas loved Christmas, although all he cared about was what toys (or paper) he could put in his mouth! We spent lots of time with family, the Maruszaks, Latas, Zambranos and Letschs and McCormicks and most of all, enjoyed relaxing with everyone.

The biggest change was the our new wall! Rich (with the "assistance" of Justin) removed the railing in our lofted bedroom and replaced it with a full wall. This gives us some sanity in the evenings when Lukas goes to sleep, so we don't have to sit in the dark or watch TV with the subtitles anymore. We hope it helps with selling our place as we now go on 10 months with no offer! Most of all, we (hmmm I) are trying to enjoy our home for what it is and not look forward to the next step (my new year's resolution!).

More Gender Predictions

Some *new* gender predictions:
- We just returned from a trip to Connecticut where all my East coast friends ALL said boy.
- The bum that hangs out in the bar parking lot behind our place has now said to me on 2 seperate occassions as I walked to/from work, "It's a boy".
- My sister, Deanna, just found out she is having a girl at her 20 week ultrasound. That means, our original prediction from the Draino test could possibly have the wrong results resulting in Baby Zambrano (brown results) is a girl and Baby Lata (no color change) is a boy.

Less than 10 more weeks until we find out...
